HEY!

So i had another amazing week in honduras. My companion and I are trying to be as obedient as possible. Incase you guys didnt know, missionarys have like A BUNCH of rules they have to follow. And if they arent following the rules they are losing a lot of blessing from the lord. And this week we have been blessed for our efforts. We found 3 new familys to teach! And thats like a big deal, because its been quite some time since we have found anyone new. We have been working alot with the people we currently have and with less actives.

So, we have this one investigator who has been giving us a bit of trouble. His name is Kerly and he works with glass for a living. We found him like my first week here. We taught him and thought he was golden. He was progressing very well, but one day he passed by our house and gave us his book of mormon. He was like this isnt for me, i want to focus on the Bible. Its been like 2 weeks since this happened and we havent taught him since. But he has been attending church and going to the activities. So my companion and i went and taught him again yesterday and we found a BUNCH of scriptures to share with him. Like Isiah 29, John 10 verse 16, and a bunch more. We, as missionaries, arent here to prove that the book of mormon is true. The book is true even if nobody believed it was. But our purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ. And one of the things that brings them a lot closer to Christ is the book of mormon. We taught kerly and showed him a bunch of these scriptures and invited him to pray and ask God if the book was true. He said that he would try again. And my companion and I were super happy about this.

Here in marcala there are so many different churches in such a little town. We know that when Christ came to earth he established a church and gave his 12 apostles the authority to preach and to effectuar ordinanzas en el nombre de Jesucristo. But the people in jerusalem nailed christ to the cross and crucified him. And not to shortly after they killed the 12 apostles. I like to use a metaphor comparing the crusifixion and the apostasy to a glass of water. After christ and the apostles died, this glass of water fell and broke into a bunch of little pieces. There were some who thought the things of Christ were good and they picked up what pieces they could find and taught with the pieces they had and filled in the rest with thier own knowledge. This is why there are so many different churches. This is why one church thinks baptism should occur as a baby, and another at the age of 8, and another when your an adult. This is why each preacher interprets the same verse in a different way. The world was in this state of confusion until Joseph Smith translated the book of mormon. Because we have the book of mormon, we can read the scriptures and understand them in the way God intended them to be. The book of mormon and the bible support one another and in them both we can find all the information we need to be saved. God didnt just testify to the people in Jerusalem. He loves all of his children, and he gave the knowledge to the people here in the americas.

It breaks my heart when people dont even give the book of mormon a chance. We know that us humans can lie all day long. But God, he doesnt. Thats why we invite people to read and to pray. To know for themselves that this is Christs true church upon the earth.

This church is true, i know it is, because i have read and prayed for myself. I know God answers prayers. Joseph Smith was a prophet and restored Christs church to this Earth. I know that I am a child of God, I am of royal lineage. I know that Christ paid the price for my sins, and that through repentance and living the gospel of Jesus Christ I can return and live with him again.
