No pictures this week, sorry.
We baptized a family!! And it was
quite the experience. Their names are Jacobo y Ena. Jacobo is 66 years old and
Ena is 29. They were married when we found them and they have two kids. This
family was soooo prepared to receive the Gospel it’s not even funny.
We found them knocking doors like 2
months ago and we kept teaching them. Jacobo accepted every single one of the
lessons with ease. The problem was with his wife. She was born in the Catholic
Church and was kind of hard to teach. But we kept passing by and passing by.
Jacobo kept progressing and progressing and progressing and Ena started to
listen to us a little bit more.
We got to the point where Jacobo received
all of the lessons and was ready to get baptized, but he made some mistakes in
the past and had to have an interview with President Fortuna. He did his
interview and we had to wait like a month before he could get baptized.
I thought that maybe Jacobo would
leave a little bummed about the news, but he left the interview more excited than
before. So after that we started to focus on teaching Ena. As time went on she
got easier to teach.
So this last week I had to go to a
leadership meeting with president fortuna, and like 30 mins after the meeting
he called me and told me that we had permission to baptize Jacobo.
My companion and I freaked out! We
made the trip back to Santa Ana and the first the we did was go and give Jacobo
the news. It was awesome!
We told him on Tuesday and got
baptized this last Saturday after the morning conference. It was awesome.
I baptized Jacobo and my companion
baptized Ena. And after the baptism we bought cake to celebrate. It was a good
day.
Love you guys,
Elder Brown
