Hey Everyone!

Hola!

We just got back from a little hike. We went to visit a waterfall in our area. It was awesome.!Honduras is so beautiful, the sound of the water is so relaxing.

I am working and working and trying to get my zone to reach their potential.  Transfers are coming up next week and I'm trying to leave my area with a lot of baptismal dates.

I really have seen some miracles this last week:

We have this investigator named Colonel Pablo. He is an older guy, like 55 years old or so. He has all white hair and looks like the KFC guy. We have been teaching him for like three weeks and have been trying to get him to commit to baptism. He always responded to us that he would get baptize when God tells him to. Two days ago he got his answer while reading the Book of Mormon. He told us that he thinks its great that the church focuses so much on charity. After reading that part in Moroni and attending a baptism, he felt a lot more comfortable with his decision. He is going to be baptized this Saturday!!

We also fasted this week for a new chosen family to teach and we got one! We fasted on fast Sunday, and yesterday night we found the family Pacheco (our answer). He lived in the States for a while and stayed with a Mormon family. Hermano Pacheco sells Mexican tacos and we went in and ate at his little restaurant. Started talking to him and what not, but yesterday we taught him and his family at his house. They are so great. I know that they are going to get baptized. They are going to come with us to church next Sunday.

The Book of Mormon is so awesome. It converts so so many people. I invite you all to read and ponder Helaman 15:7-8... I'm so grateful for the scriptures. They help us to develop more faith and to repent. I have seen the scriptures change so many lives.

I know that this Church is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet. I know that Jesus is the Christ. I know that God hears and answers prayers.

I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have everyday to help others to come unto Christ.

An Incredible Week!

Hi  Everyone!

This last week I had the opportunity to receive instruction from Elder Alonso from the Seventy. It was absolutely incredible. He came and spoke to the mission for three days and had a special meeting with the leaders of the mission.

I feel so renewed and so great. I know without a doubt that the leaders of the church are inspired and receive so much inspiration.

He spoke to us a lot about Luke 8, about how we can grab and be healed by touching Jesus' garment.

We sat down to eat lunch and he came and sat at our table and i had the opportunity to talk with a general authority. It was so awesome!

He is from Mexico, he is a doctor, and an incredible example for me of what I want to become.

I asked him what is the most important thing for a missionary to do when he returns to his house. He responded to me 3 things.

1. Daily meaningful scripture study

2. Prayer

3. Deep study of the atonement.

He continued and said that a missionary when he gets home isn't supposed to let loose, grow a beard and just hang out. He needs to keep working and not leave behind those habits that he has had during the mission.

It was such a great week. I learned SO much.

Love you all,

Elder Brown

It's Sooooo Cold Here!

Hey Guys,

It is soooo cold here, its ridiculous. There is fog so think that you can only see 10 yards in front of you. Its crazy!

This past week we baptized the Sarabia family. They are awesome! It was not easy getting them baptized, but we did it. We had to take them to a pueblo that's 3 hours away from here so that they could make their date. Crazy, but everything worked out smoothly. The Lord definitely answered my prayers.

This past week my camera was stolen :( There were some kids out at the soccer field and they had a football and wanted to learn how to throw it. I put my stuff down and we played football with them for a bit and taught them. After the lesson I went back to my backpack and my camera was gone.  That's OK, I am going to be using my companion's a lot.

This past week I dropped our cell phone in some soup and it stopped working. So I had to buy a new one. I called my mission president and had to explain to him what happened to the phone and felt really embarrassed.  Ha-ha.

Time just keeps flying by. I can't believe how fast it goes.

This next week we are going to be in Tegucigalpa for 3 days because Elder Alonso from the Area Presidency is going to be speaking with our mission. I'm excited.

Thanks for everything!

I love you guys,

Hola!

Hi Everyone!!

Well, this week passed by really fast. We just got the news for the changes. I am going to be here in La Esperanza for another 6 weeks.

This week I read one of the talks that you guys sent me called "The Granduer of God", and holy smokes it was awesome.

More than anything lately, I'm just trying to break the limits. My Zone hasn't changed a bit since the day I got here,  and I am trying so hard to wake them up and help them reach their potential.  I'm trying to be an example to the Zone of how faith and attitude can change everything. I want to break the record of baptisms in one month in the mission in Feburary. And I know I can do it.  There is nothing stopping me! I just have to start now working harder than I ever have worked before.

I love you guys.

Happy New Year!

Hey Everyone,

I had to write my Mission President a bunch of stuff today and I let time get away from me :(

It was great talking to you guys on Christmas!

The Young Men in our Mission Prep Class

Christmas Time!

Well, this past week I dressed up like santa for the Branch Christmas party. Yeah, it was awesome. I taught the Branch the true meaning of Christmas ...  ha-ha-ha!

Lasuma_94 is the skype name i will call you all from. I'm calling christmas day at 1 in the afternoon my time.

So a couple of weeks ago my Mission President changed the standards of sucess in the mission. One of the new standards is that we need to find 20 new people to teach each week. And that isn't anything easy. BUT, each companionship in my Zone did it! I love my Zone, they are the best.

My companion and I also started a Mission Prep Class to work with the young men. Here in the branch there isn't a Young Men's President or anything for the young men. But me and my companion found something we can do for them to pump them up and so that they come to church each week. A lot of them come from less active families, so we are hoping that they share the word with the rest of the group.

The families we are teaching came to church last week again and we are super happy about that. We sent the dad of the family to take out his paper this morning.

Today we played baseball as a District, it was a blast.

Things just keep on keeping on. I can't believe how fast the time goes by.
